Technology love...

I was super excited when Mandy from Turquoise Avenue asked me to host this weeks prompt for #hashtagthisweek.  I chose the prompt "technology love" because life has changed so much and continues to change at a rapid rate.  Items or products that we used several years ago have already been replaced with better, faster and easier ones.  I thought it would be fun to document what piece of technology you just couldn't live without and for me it's my iphone.  That will be no shock to most of you but I have never really documented it before but it's something that I have wanted to do for ages.

I cut out cell phones from pretty pattern paper using my silhouette cameo and used some embellishments from a past Story Kit from Ali Edwards.  The gold lettering is from the main DD kit back from 2013. This kit is currently on sale.

Hope you have enjoyed my prompt for this week and please link up over on Mandy's blog so that I can check out favourite pieces of technology that you just couldn't live without.

Love me :-)

#hashtagthisweek - An Interview With...

Playing along with #hashtagthisweek - what a great prompt.  I have been meaning to do this with my kids for the last few months so this was just the push I needed.
I did this back in 2011 with both my kids using a digital template from Cathy Zielske and I decided that I would use the same template and the same questions as I thought it would be fun to compare.

It turns out Josh still hates chicken snitzel and roast LOL!

I added both here side by side so you could see the difference.
I kept the pages simple as I wanted to focus more on the words and story.

This certainly was fun to look back on compare.

Now if I can just get my daughter to answer these questions...

Love me :-)

#hashtagthisweek - let's go shopping...

I love these prompts from Mandy at Turquoise Ave, they are fun and get you thinking about stories that you can add to your memory keeping.
This weeks prompt "Let's go shopping" was just perfect as last Saturday my daughter finally convinced me to take her to Horseland to buy some "much needed" things.  Every day for weeks she has been asking to go and I finally caved in LOL!

and these free journal cards from Greyhouselane are so cool and were very easy to use.  You can get these here.

Here is a look at my layout...

I used all four journalling cards from Greyhouselane which made putting the layout together super easy.  One of the best things I have found about using digital items is that you never run out of them.  When I finished this layout I decided to add some splatters of mist (now I do usually do this before I stick everything down, but for some reason this time I didn't) just to finish off the layout.  As I was adding the last splatters I knocked the bottle over and spilt a huge blob of mist right on top of my layout.  Yes I did mention a few words that I cannot repeat here and I may have even have dropped the odd tear.  But then I realised that they were digital elements and I could just reprint them.  I carefully pulled off the two totally ruined journal cards and replaced them with new ones.  No the blob of mist just looks like its supposed to be there.

This was such a fun prompt and a fun layout to do.  Don't forget to check our Mandy's blog for future prompts.

Happy Friday

#hashtagthisweek - Joy

Playing along with #hashtagthisweek over at Record Life Home blog. This weeks prompt is "Joy" and one thing that always brings me joy is coffee.  I know I should probably pick something with a bit more meaning (lol) but this simple little act of having coffee really does bring me joy.  It's time for me to stop, breathe, center myself and have a little me time before I snap back into reality. Sometimes it's only for a few minutes and other times it can be a little longer.

I used journal cards from Digital Design Essentials which you can download for free from Record Life Home.  Coffee stamp is from Kellie Stamps and date stamp is from Dear Lizzy.

What brings you joy...
love me :-)

In my bag...

Playing along with Record Life Home and her prompt for this week  "in my bag".
We went on a picnic on Easter Monday and before everyone attacked the bag I managed to get a quick shot.  Just the usual stuff inside... plus hot cross buns - don't be harsh its easter LOL!

Why not snap a photo of whats in your bag. Don't forget to link up at Record Life Blog so we can take a little look, just for creative purposes you understand!  If you use Instagram use the hashtags #inmybag & #hashtagthisweek.

Happy snapping
love me :-)
